Humpa Reprise

The 33rd Annual Humpa Picnic is in the history books. It wasn’t the clearest or the rainiest day. It wasn’t the hottest or the coldest temperature. It wasn’t the largest or the smallest gathering.
What it WAS was a wonderful day of greeting old friends, making new friends and enjoying camaraderie over great BMWs, extraordinary cuisine and an abundance of door prizes.
Here are but a few of the notables in the cuisine category: orzo salad, tomato-mozzarella salad, ice cream Cole slaw, real authentic homemade spaetzle, German sauerkraut, brownies and made from scratch New York cheesecake. These are but the tip of the iceberg.
Also enjoyable was a fine selection of Oktoberfest Beers given by Tony’s Imported Auto Service of Manchester, CT.
Door Prize contributors were as follows: BMW CCA supplied an assortment of BMW and BMW CCA Oktoberfest goodies; Your own Connecticut Valley Chapter provided an even wider assortment of goodies from almanacs to Genuine BMW goodies; and Performance Automotive, Inc. discounted all CVC Door Prize purchases plus gave multiple car care prizes.
We offer a resounding THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS! We also thank all you members who provided food and help during the event. In addition, we thank the members who brought along their families. Those happy kids are our future. Let’s start them young. Every year The Humpa Picnic is a team effort from which we all take warmth and enthusiasm that keeps us supporting our CVC.
